Morning headlines: N’Golo Kante exit, Nkunku latest, Fofana injury update

Welcome to today’s Chelsea live blog on Homezos.com on Friday day, October 7.

What a win last night, eh! Graham Potter guided the Blues back to winning ways in the Champions League with a confident 3-0 win over AC Milan.

However, the west Londoners’ impressive display was tainted by the unfortunate injury of Wesley Fofana, who was seen leaving Stamford Bridge last night on crutches. The 21-year-old looked to have picked up a knee injury after an altercation with transfer target Rafael Leao – so stay with us, and we’ll keep you updated!

Elsewhere, football.london understand that Christopher Nkunku has signed a pre-contract agreement with Chelsea, which will see the RB Leipzig forward join the club next summer. He has been a long-term target of Chelsea’s, and it seems as though he will be the first signing of the Graham Potter era.

There is also growing doubt over the future of N’Golo Kante, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season once his contract in west London expires. His injury record has become an issue recently, but that hasn’t deterred the likes of PSG from circling the situation.

So, with that being said, stay with us at football.london as we bring you the latest Chelsea news, transfer gossip and update on this live blog throughout the day…

Ruben Loftus-Cheek lauds ‘ruthless’ Chelsea

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thiago Silva agree on Rafael Leao
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, when asked about the Portuguese winger Aubameyang responded: “He is an incredible player, truly impressive. He is very fast, powerful, he can make a difference at any moment. Nothing else to say except that he is incredible.”

Chelsea’s Brazilian defender agreed with his teammate and admitted if Leao had scored at the end of the first half then the result could have been very different for the Blues. Silva said: “Milan were in difficulty because Chelsea had a great game.

“It’s normal that if one team plays well the other struggles. Then it all depends, if Leao scored that goal at the end of the first half it would’ve changed the game completely.

“I always tell my players, within a game there are many games. If he had scored at that moment, the second half would’ve been a different match. It was important not to concede that goal. Then in the second half we played well and Milan struggled a bit, but Tuesday will be a different game.”

Wesley Fofana injury update
According to L’Equipe, Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana suffered a sprained knee injury during the 3-0 win vs AC Milan on Wednesday and is expected to miss up to four weeks.
