Glen Johnson has explained how Romelu Lukaku can be a success at Chelsea when he returns from his loan at Inter Milan.
Lukaku was signed by just over 12 months ago as Thomas Tuchel was desperate to add a world class striker to the attack – and many had hoped that the Belgian would be a massive success
But despite scoring a few goals – putting in a few solid performances – he looked nothing like the striker that banged in goals for fun at Inter Milan – and this summer – the Blues allowed him to leave on loan back to the Italian giants
And since his move back to Inter – he has made it clear that he would like to stay in Italian football and the giants will look to loan the 29-year-old once again for the 2023-24 season.
However – Potter may want to keep him instead – with the player under contract until 2026 and Johnson has opened up and told Lukaku how he can be a success at Stamford Bridge when he returns to the cub at the end of the season.
‘It’s very difficult to see how he can salvage his Chelsea career at the moment,’ Johnson told Bettingodds.com about Lukaku’s future.p
‘He’s obviously a good player but his recent spell at the club was dreadful, as we all know.
‘I think he can be a success if he can get back to doing what he does best and stop moving over to the flanks and trying to dribble past everyone.
