Reports: He is just irreplaceable and can’t be stop at the moment, absolutely the best player in Europe now according ex Star player

According to Micah Richards, Chelsea’s Mason Mount looks like a player reborn under Graham Potter.

Mount continued his recent mini run of good form by helping to guide Chelsea to a 2-0 away win against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring early with a tidy finish after capitalising on a mistake. Afterwards, he fired in a brilliant free-kick in the second-half that wrongfooted the goalkeeper.

With the World Cup fast approaching, England boss Gareth Southgate must be excited by what he’s seen from Chelsea’s attacking midfielder in recent weeks.

Mount looks reborn under Potter
Sky Sports pundit Richards, who was speaking on Sunday after watching Mount’s latest display, suggests the change of management at Stamford Bridge has been great for him.

It was a very slow start to this campaign from the playmaker given his heights in recent years, but Potter’s arrival as the new Blues head coach last month has ignited a fire in him.

“Mount is there to pounce [for his first goal]. Since Potter has come in, he’s been like a new player. He’s really taken to the tactics very well,” Richards said on Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (3:55pm, 16 October).

Mount is always a dangerous player when he feels he’s got something to prove, so criticism in the early stages of the season may have only fired him up.

Of course, the way he’s adapted quickly to what Potter is trying to do is a big help. It’s no real surprise a player with his intelligence is thriving, too.

However, his mini drop off earlier in the season was only natural because people forget he’s still a youngster that’s been so consistent in recent seasons.

He was brilliant under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel. History is now repeating itself with Potter as well.

Chelsea’s current manager singled Mount out for praise on the weekend.
