Reports have claimed that Jorginho has rejected the first contract offered to him by Todd Boehly to stay at Chelsea.
According to the Evening Standard, the Italy international is keen to see his wage rise to £150k-per-week, which has so far not been offered to him.
The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire this summer, with the Blues potentially set for somewhat of a midfield exodus at the end of this season.
There are genuine fears that it could be an end to N’golo Kante’s time at Chelsea this summer.
Losing Kante would be such a big loss to the Blues, with there being no one else in football who can do what he does to the standard he does it.
It would take a world-class signing to even start to try and replace the Frenchman, with Jude Bellingham one of the only obvious options available next summer.
While the owners are obviously weighing up his injury situation when making him a contract offer, they should not forget just how dominant he is when fully fit.
