‘What a player’: super star makes huge claim About Chelsea player he rates so highly

Conor Coady has raved about the individual quality of Chelsea’s Thiago Silva.

Silva, who turned 38 last month, has had a glamorous career for both club and country.

The £110,000-a-week centre-back has achieved so much at club level in Europe, with Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and now Chelsea.

Also, the classy defender has 108 Brazil caps and counting heading into the World Cup in November.

Conor Coady raved about Thiago Silva
England and Everton centre-back Coady has made the huge claim that Silva is in his top three defenders of all time.

When asked the top three best defenders, Coady replied on BBC Sport: “Thiago Silva, what a player.”

He also named former Blues captain John Terry. Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci was his final pick.

In fairness, Premier League centre-halves must absolutely love the chance to play on the same pitch as Silva.

It’s remarkable that the Chelsea veteran is still the one setting the standards, even at his age, with his imperious performances.

How much longer?
It’s a burning question for Chelsea fans. How much longer can Silva keep performing like this?

The South American warrior is still playing some classy football, with Graham Potter managing his game time when he can.

It’s now his third season at Stamford Bridge as a key player in the Blues squad, which is much more than people expected when he first arrived in West London.

Journalist Simon Phillips reports that Chelsea would like Silva to sign another one-year contract extension to keep him at the club until 2024. However, the player himself is still yet to make a final decision.
