“For me personally” – Chelsea player determined to continue UCL success and also made it clear that he is really enjoying his football now

It was just a couple of seasons ago now when Chelsea lifted the Champions League trophy for only the second time in their history.

Mason Mount setup Kai Havertz to score the goal that has gone down in club and football history as The Blues beat fellow Premier League side Manchester City in the final. It was one of those great, against all odds moments, with Chelsea never expected or predicted to go far in the competition.

The same can be said about this season as well, but Chelsea are already through to the knockout stage’s thanks for another Havertz goal on Tuesday night, and he is hoping for similar success in this seasons Champions League.

The German international has been speaking to the media this week, after he helped Chelsea beat RB Salzburg to advance from the group stages to the knockout part of the competition.

“It’s a special competition for me personally and for us as a club as well,” Havertz said as reported by The Evening Standard. “For me, it’s the best competition in the world and everyone is excited to play in these matches. It was nice to score an important goal (against Salzburg) and I hope to continue in this manner.”
