Kai Havertz and Graham Potter feel like they the potential to be a great combination.
The German attacker is looking to finally have a manager who is able to get him doing the things he does best, all game every game. The new manager is looking for an attacking talisman.
Havertz’ goal against Red Bull Salzburg was a great individual moment, but it’s also interesting to see where he dropped deep from and where he hit the shot from. If that has come from Potter’s work with him, that’s a promising sign.
Kai Havertz: “I've only worked with Graham Potter for a few weeks, but he is a very, very good coach and time will tell how far we can go in the Champions League.”

In quotes picked up by the Evening Standard today, Havertz called his new manager a “very, very good coach” after the game. The players all seem to be responding well to his work, and results are good. If we keep this up until the World Cup break, Potter and Havertz can both feel satisfied they really do have a connection.
