Graham Potter will start the player who has only played 25 minutes for him – predicted Chelsea XI vs Zagreb
Graham Potter has the luxury of being able to rest a number of players for tomorrow night’s Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb.
The Blues are already through as group winners, following a big trio of wins against AC Milan and RB Salzburg.
The game offers a number of opportunities for players who are so far yet to have the opportunity to impress the new manager.
With that said, here’s who The Chelsea Chronicle predicts will start at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
GK and Defence,
With Kepa Arrizabalaga falling injured, tomorrow’s game brings the opportunity for Edouard Mendy to make his first start under Potter.
In a back four, Cesar Azpilicueta will operate on the right after being a substitute in the damning loss at Brighton last weekend.
Trevoh Chalobah suffered his first loss as a starter at the weekend, and his own goal capped off a miserable afternoon. Despite that, he will continue his impressive run with another start tomorrow.
He will be partnered by a returning Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been spotted in training ahead of this fixture.
Marc Cucurella will be handed an opportunity to prove his critics wrong with a showing in his more natural left-back role.
Midfield,
Jorginho will return to the starting line-up tomorrow, with the Blues sure to have the lion share of possession.
There will be a Chelsea debut for Denis Zakaria in midfield, with him handed his first opportunity to show Blues fans what he can do.
Alongside them, youngster Carney Chukwuemeka will be given his first opportunity from the start to impress since his move from Aston Villa.
Attack
Christian Pulisic will start in attack tomorrow, after his last two appearances have seen him play as a wing-back.
Hakim Ziyech has been handed just 25 minutes since Potter came to the club, however he will be handed a start tomorrow.
Up front, Armando Broja will be given another opportunity to prove why he should be given more game time at Stamford Bridge.
