Reports from Germany have claimed that Chelsea are ready to make Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham their number one target next summer.
According to BILDSPORT, the Blues are rivalling Manchester City, Real Madrid and Liverpool for the deal, with there being a reported £129m price tag on his name.
The 19-year-old is surely set to move on from the Bundesliga side this summer.
If he does, he is certain to create the biggest transfer battle in recent memory in an attempt to secure his signature.
He may be looking to use this month’s World Cup as an opportunity to show what he can do on the big stage, although his impeccable Champions League displays this season should have already done that job.
It has been claimed for weeks that Todd Boehly is working hard behind the scenes to play catch-up with those who were further down the line in getting a deal done next summer.
Chelsea make Bellingham priority
Now, SPORTBILD are reporting the Blues are making the England international their number one priority to sign at the end of the season.
Bellingham would come to Stamford Bridge already knowing well a number of the crucial first team stars due to international duty.
One of these is Reece James, who has been highly complimentary of the midfielder in the past.
James is unfortunately almost certain to miss out on the World Cup later this month, following his injury suffered in the Champions League.
Bellingham meanwhile will be a shoo in for a starting role in Gareth Southgate’s midfield. He will likely be partnered by fellow Chelsea target Declan Rice.
The signing of the Dortmund man is likely to be one for more than a decade of brilliance in the middle of the park, and the Blues could be preparing for somewhat of an exodus in the position next summer.
