Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly has claimed in an interview with the Evening Standard that he is ready to start for the Blues this weekend.
His side are looking ahead to the difficult task of welcoming table-topping Arsenal to Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners have only dropped points in two league games this season, and have been the team to beat despite Erling Haaland’s brilliance for Manchester City.
Chelsea meanwhile will be looking to return to winning ways in the league after tasting defeat for the first time under Graham Potter last week.
His side were humbled 4-1 by his former team Brighton, a game where Koulibaly’s defensive capabilities were severely missed.
He was a welcome returner during this week’s Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb, featuring in a back four alongside Trevoh Chalobah.
Koulibaly ready for Arsenal
The 31-year-old has now claimed that he is ready to play again this weekend despite the demands of facing Arsenal.
He said: “I will do my best to get in the team [v Arsenal]. We know that it will be a tough game. We will see if the coach chooses this.
“Me, at the moment, I am feeling better. I personally had ten tough days, but I am feeling better and ready to be on the pitch.”

With injuries running rampant across the defence, the Senegal international will surely be among the starters at the weekend.
In a likely return to a back five, Marc Cucurella will surely be used on the left following Ben Chilwell’s injury that has surely ruled him out of the World Cup.
This likely leaves the left centre-back role free, and the pace required to counter Thiago Silva in the middle will surely create the opportunity for Koulibaly to start again.
