Mason Mount is into the last 18 months of the contract he signed when he returned to Chelsea after a loan, and no new deal has been agreed yet
In fact the Telegraph are reporting tonight that there is still “work to be done” on the new deal. They call it a stalemate, and it’s getting to a critical stage, for sure.

It’s the first whispers we’ve had about issues with a deal that most fans considered almost automatic. In fact, some will be surprised to hear he’s yet to sign a second deal since becoming a first team player.
Ultimately, we’d still be very very confident that he signs a new deal. He’s Chelsea through and through, we can pay him whatever he wants and he can be a key player for the team for years.
But with results really suffering, this is the first time a fragment of doubt has entered our minds.
