Reports have claimed that Amadou Onana has skipped Everton training after reports linked him with a move to Chelsea.
According to GOAL, the 21-year-old was not present for the first session run by the new management since Frank Lampard has been sacked.
The Blues’ hunt for a midfielder has been well-documented this month, as they look to put the final touches on what has been a sensational January transfer window.
They have strengthened the attack with the additions of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke, as they hunt desperately to solve their goalscoring woes that have been present for this year.
Now though, they need to add in the middle of the park as they face a potential exodus in the position at the end of the season.
Onana misses Everton training
Both Jorginho and N’golo Kante have contracts which are set to expire at the end of this campaign, with the Italy international in particular showing no ambition to extend his stay.
They have so far had attempts to sign Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo blocked by both of their sides. Brighton in particular have been firm in their stance, reportedly placing a £100m price tag on the Ecuadorian.
In response to this difficulty, the Blues have reportedly turned to the turmoil that is Everton in an attempt to find reinforcements, with Onana being targeted.
GOAL have now claimed that the Belgium international has skipped training now, alongside fellow reported target Anthony Gordon.
The winger was reportedly high on the list last summer, however they could return for a deal in the coming days.
The Toffees signed the midfielder for £33m before the season began, and he has become a very important member of the midfield at Goodison Park, and would be a massive loss to the managerless side if he were to leave so late in the window.
