Report: Player now undergoing medical as he edges closer to Chelsea departure

Hakim Ziyech is reportedly one step closer to leaving Chelsea today.

 

According to Santi Aouna, Ziyech is currently undergoing a medical at Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG have made a last-minute dash to sign the Moroccan ahead of the conclusion of the transfer window.

 

The 29-year-old apparently landed in Paris last night to progress the deal that will potentially see him join the Ligue 1 side on loan for the rest of the season.

A move away from Stamford Bridge as always seemingly been on the cards for the left-footed attacker.

 

He has struggled to cement his place in South West London since leaving Ajax in the summer of 2020.

Injuries and poor form have played a part in Ziyech’s downfall, with the recent World Cup the only real major highlight of his Chelsea career.

Ironically, the forward finally found some form at club level after the tournament, with Graham Potter picking him regularly in the team.

 

But this hasn’t prevented his head being turned by the attentions of PSG, who are looking to finalise the deal today.

This will be the first major outgoing for Chelsea, with Conor Gallagher another potential departure before the month finishes.
