£80m player’s agent says his client has missed out on his ‘dream’ move after claims Chelsea had bid rejected

Moises Caicedo’s agent has claimed to Sussex Live that his client has missed out on a dream move after being kept at Brighton this season,

The midfielder was heavily reported to be of interest to two of the Premier League’s big hitters. Both Chelsea and Arsenal were linked to signing him.

The Blues reportedly had a bid rejected for him midway through the window, as they began to scramble to ensure they brought in at least one midfielder last month.

They needn’t have worried in the end though. Fierce negotiations on deadline day saw them end up with a club-record signing in the form of Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez is set to make his debut for the club tomorrow, meanwhile Caicedo will be returning to Brighton training with his tail between his legs.

Caicedo missed out on a dream move
The 21-year-old took to social media to make it publicly known how much he wanted to leave Brighton, saying how much of a dream it was to take the step up.

However, a stubborn Brighton side didn’t allow him to leave, with his agent now claiming that he has missed out on an opportunity he may never get again.

He said: “The offers were received, you see what is on the table and Moisés [Caicedo] says that he wants to go forward, that it is the dream of his whole life. That it is an opportunity that may not be repeated in life.”

It has been rumoured that Chelsea will not be finished with their lavish transfer activity yet, and another midfielder is one position they are looking to bring in.

However, with the likes of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham also likely to be on the move at the end of the season, Caicedo may find himself considerably less in demand.
